Equidem Powerful reports lift the lid on workers’ rights

Equidem’s reports are highly detailed, linking real-life stories and evidence to human rights violations and abuses. Given the sensitive nature of their content, the reports must be 100% accurate, as they often challenge large organizations and could face legal inquiries. The tight deadlines are another challenge, as reports must be prepared for key press events, often with limited delivery time.

Reports launched:

• "If we complain, we are fired": This report detailed the exploitation of workers building stadiums for the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar, garnering significant international media attention.
• The Cost of Contagion: This report focused on the impact of COVID-19 on migrant workers in the Gulf, analyzing the pandemic’s human rights implications for one of the world’s most vulnerable populations.
• EXPOsed: This report revealed the discrimination and forced labor practices during the construction of the World Expo 2020 in Dubai.
• "We work like robots": This report explored the mistreatment of workers in hotels built for the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar, highlighting exploitative labor practices.

Optima designed and developed both print and digital versions of Equidem’s reports, ensuring they were professional, legally sound, and visually impactful. While short print runs were produced for press events, the reports were also made available online as PDFs. Taking the digital strategy further, Optima developed an online HTML document template to streamline future report publication, allowing Equidem to quickly and efficiently expand their library.
